The Fresh Princess of Bel-Air

Move over, Paris. According to the New York Daily News, Nicole Ritchie has surpassed her former best friend and party partner in raw star power. Here's what they said:

"There's no question about it. Seventeen cover-star, trendstarter, author, actress, and bride-to-be Nicole is outshining her FBFF (that's former best friend forever) in every area. Her duckling-to-swan journey is an addictive fairly tale."

The executives at the FOX network seem to agree. Though they have famously rejected the fourth season of The Simple Life, which was picked up for the spring season by the E! channel, they have offered Ritchie a deal that could result in her own sitcom. According to Dana Walden, a 20th Century FOX exec, the former sidekick extraordinaire has "comedic instincts." (I know, I can barely read that without gagging either.) Though it has not been decided whether a sitcom will be developed around Ritchie, or whether she will be placed into an existing show, the starlet has expressed interest in doing a biographical show along the lines of Will Smith's "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air."

No word yet on whether the incredibly "comedic" topics of cocaine addiction and anorexia will be incorporated into the show.

I am not really a fan of Ritchie per se, but anything that may result in the future unhappiness of Paris Hilton is fine by me.
